Easter

I have the flu. This sucks on many levels. One, I missed Easter lunch and visiting with family. Two, All my planning the previous week did not come to pass. Three, I have the flu people, what more can I say.... I did, however, get to see Lena wake up to her easter basket and hunt for eggs. Unfortunately, she did this at a quarter to seven in the morning. I am NOT a morning person on the best of days. Still it was cute. She explained to me that the Easter bunny is white, has long ears, and a sister named wiggly. Also, the Easter bunny likes her cause he gave her eggs with candy in them. Pilar (unfortunately for both of us) was up all night Easter Eve crying and nursing. I assumed she too had the flu so she missed out on Easter. Luckily, she is not sick, just cranky. I will have pictures and possibly video up soon. Just waiting for my brain to stop trying to burst out of my head. Stupid brain.

Yarn!!

So, I've been crocheting like a maniac. My mom has requested some photos, so here they are:

This is the bigger-than-expected Totoro I made for Lena. I found the pattern on-line. She LOVED it for about 2 days. Now it's just another member of the ever-present stuffed animal picnic.

Speaking of picnics...here are some more food additions:

The bacon is my own interpretation, the fried egg is a smaller version of a pattern I found on-line.

These cookies are my own creation. yummy.

Finally, my favorite. Except for the radish, these are all my own . My favorite is the eggplant. (Lena calls it her plum). I'm hoping to sell some of these at a fundraiser in April and I may open an Etsy store in the near future. We'll see how well they do. If nothing, Lena and Pilar have a lot of soft food to throw at each other.

YAY part deux

So Lena has finally done it. I never thought I'd be so excited by poop. Her grandma and I took her to Target today to buy panties. She picked out Tinkerbell (who she calls jingle bell). Once she got them on (after a nap, bless her) she had a confused look on her face. She told us, "something's wrong!" Jason explained that panties are thinner than diapers so she had to make sure to go in the potty. She looked at him with big, big eyes and said, "so if I poop it will go everywhere?" "Yes" said Jason. " I need diapers!!!" said Lena.

So.... one step forward and one back . She still wants to poop in the potty, but needs some insurance.

Pilar, meanwhile, has thoroughly enjoyed wearing Lena's new panties on her head. Always a comedian that one.
