Monkey says ribbit

Well it's about time I write. Where have I been!? What could keep me away for so long?

I'm glad you asked. You know, this whole having more than one child thing is a lot harder than they make it sound in the brochure. For one thing, when are you supposed to bathe?
And how come no one told me this one would get every illness know to mankind? How can such a small head hold so much snot? Well, at least she poops a lot. (yes, that's what passes for sarcasm to me these days. )

Actually, it's not all that bad. I'm just being dramatic. Speaking of drama queens, Lena is growing like crazy, both physically and emotionally. A few weeks ago, Lena told her first joke. While Jason was changing her diaper, Lena was watching the fisher price baby soother which features a singing monkey and frog (two of her favorite animals). She suddenly turns to Jason and says, "monkey says ribbit!" and laughs her head off. I cracked up for a week afterward. I have the feeling there will be many knock knock jokes in my future.

Pilar is also growing. It's so strange to have a baby who grows at the normal rate. She'll be 6 months on April 9th and she's wearing 3-6 months clothes. This would not sound so amazing except that 3-6 months is the size Lena was wearing at 10 months. More amazing than her size, is Pilar's personality grows day by day. She is very happy most of the time and smiles easily. She looks like a combination between my dad and Jason. She has J's eyes and cheeks, but my dad's chin and face shape. Her eyes are still blue (and will probably remain so), but her left eye is half brown on top. It's kind of cool.

Lena and Pilar ADORE each other. Lena's favorite game is putting Pilar in bed with her and talking to her. Pilar, for her part, coos and smiles and laughs at her sister. It's great right now, but I know things will change once Pilar can touch Lena's toys.
